Routine Dental Exams for Kids in the Redmond Area
Children should visit the dentist every 6 months starting 6 months after they get their first tooth. This is usually around age 1. At this first appointment, checking for cavities, screening for oral diseases, and evaluating development are what is important. I will also spend some time with parents discussing oral hygiene at home and good habits to keep their child’s teeth healthy.
As children grow older and are more comfortable, we will include other procedures like polishing teeth, fluoride treatments, and x-rays. The idea is to not make children afraid of the dental office, but at the same time do what is needed to keep them healthy.
